O krocích do Skandinávie

About steps to Scandinavia

"I decided to pursue what had been my long-held dream. I gathered courage and gradually prepared myself and those around me for it to come."

Or from Finland to Sweden to Norway. Come read the story of when Scandinavia caught our founder's attention and where she decided to move to gain energy and sustainably develop her personal life and business.

2013 — Finland

It's been over a decade since I first visited Scandinavia. I had the opportunity to study for a month in a small town in Finland. Savonlinna . Yes, it was cold there, so cold that I had to buy boots for -20, which I still have to this day. I was in another world, excited about nature and what I learned during that month. For example, the fact that the locals ask permission before entering the forest and thank you for what they take from it. Even then, I felt that I would return one day.

2019— Sweden for the first time

A few years later I visited Sweden. On a trip to a small island belonging to the city Gothenburg, I took a picture of myself in front of a wooden house and said that I would live in one someday. It was a bit of a game, but at the same time there was something real about it. It was just a few days before I submitted my thesis, a warm little body, which at that time was in a very different form than what you know it as today.

I then successfully submitted my thesis, determined that such a project could not end up in a drawer. That's why I continued on with it. After work, I went to solder wires. I had a PhD student in electronics to help me, who was trying to find a way to shrink it down to a wearable box and choose a connector that would be washable.

2020 — Feedback from Designblok

And it worked! The prototype could be washed about five times, so we decided to get feedback and exhibited it at Designblok. When someone asked me when they would be able to buy a bodysuit, I replied that in 1-2 years. It was a sober vision, but I was worried that I didn't know what the next step would be. I had no idea how I would finance further development and whether we would ever find a truly fully functional solution that would stand up to everyday life. But what helped me keep a positive mind were the women who signed up for the list of interested candidates.

When we had more of the needle, I decided to face my fear and started testing. The flashlight was large and the packaging was 3D printed and held together with tape — but it served its purpose and I became more and more confident that we were on the right track. That the needle really is a form of heat that will help with pain.

2021 — Inuheat collaboration

It became clear to me that I needed a partner to help me get the electronics right. Although I had great motivation and enthusiasts on hand, I didn't have hundreds of thousands, or even millions of crowns , which would be needed for further development. I knew that where I was headed was to get a product that would help women to the market as quickly as possible. And guess where I found a technology partner — in Sweden! We exchanged a few emails, I packed my things in my suitcase and flew north again.

Even though this seems like a completely straight forward story, I'll be honest with you - at that moment I was experiencing the most pain I could have ever imagined. I lost my mom, less than three months after her cancer diagnosis. My mom helped me with the bodysuit from the beginning, not only with the sewing, but also by reminding me that I had it. The vision that we would finish the bodysuit and launch it in the near future was what kept me going. Like I was doing it partly for both of us.

2022 — Smart Textile Showroom at the University of Borås

I visited Smart Textile Showroom at the University of Borås and I was completely fascinated. At that moment, I realized that I would like to finish my doctorate one day, focusing on smart textiles in the field of health, because there are schools where I would really like to study further.

That summer we enthusiastically sent the first bodysuits to customers in the Czech Republic. I knew then that the next step would be expansion into Scandinavian markets . And I can proudly say that our bodysuit has become part of the showroom display as one of the products that use smart textiles and are already available on the market.

2023 - To be resourceful

It was a year where I needed to recharge. I had to confront what wasn't working in the company. It took a lot of energy and there were times when I thought I was going to lose the company. It's like I'm losing a piece of myself. Maybe it sounds very abstract, but I want to leave it at that.

I am incredibly grateful that the period that literally sucked my soul out of me is now just a memory that seems distant, even though it was quite recent.

At that time, I only went to Sweden for a few days, to rest, because it always calmed me down and I was able to relax there.

2024 - New stage, Norway

The idea for the second product and the new energy I hadn't felt in a long time came from the spring. The summer was full of positive changes, ideas, clarifying visions and goals. I visited Norway and a new chapter began to be written. I felt myself being pulled there. And I decided to let go of rationality and go for it. I thank all of you from whom I feel support and trust. On a personal level, I thank my family. I feel that letting me into the world does not mean losing me, but letting me be who I am.
